Glide On Waters with Comet Dinghy

Lightweight, sturdy, versatile, and simply fun – that’s how sailors describe a Comet dinghy. Although mainly designed for fun sailing and even racing, there are four Comet variants you can choose from for whatever fun purpose you have of the boat. With creativity and sailing knowhow, you can always find a Comet dinghy model to enjoy as in racing, afternoon solo sailing, or even fun cruising with a couple of friends. You can choose from the conventional Comet dinghy model, Comet Zero, and the Comet Trio.

The conventional Comet dinghy

This is the original Comet dinghy model designed with racing speed and attitude in mind. It is single handed, lightweight, and very quick to rig so that you’re on the water quick enough for maximum fun afternoon. The model plied ocean waters in international racing events for 25 years now! And although the model is designed for one helmsman, it’s roomy enough for one tagalong so that it can be used as a training dinghy as well. The deep and roomy cockpit of a racing Comet dinghy provides welcome comfort that you can’t find in any other single-handed racing dinghy.

The Comet Zero

This Comet dinghy model is designed with beginners in mind. The lightweight, deep, roomy cockpit, and incredibly fast to rig board is still present with added simple features fit for beginners like seats and toe straps. The Comet Zero is also a perfect all-rounder with storage lockers, oars, and outboard motor-mount in case you want the dinghy for a heavy duty purpose. It can easily sit two people with enough room for luggage and even a fully grown lab. Moreover, the model can also be a great trainer for junior sailors with an option to attach a center mainsheet and an asymmetric spinnaker for picking up speed.

The Comet Trio

For a full-size family of four whose idea of weekend fun includes sun and surf, the Comet Trio dinghy is perfect. Designed by Phil Morrison, this Comet dinghy model can comfortably sit four adults and is easily sailed by one person. Although big, the dinghy remains light enough to pickup good speed even from gentle breeze, but it’s stable enough to bring you shore high and dry even when the weather decides to turn ugly. For utilitarian purpose, the dinghy can be outfitted with an outboard motor, oars, and rear lockers to become real family water equipment, too.
